Food Handlers Card Lookup
Need a food handlers card lookup to find a copy of your card? Start with the course company or health department that issued it. Each one keeps its own records, so that name is the key to finding your copy. What you'll need depends on who issued the card: some services ask for your account login, while others use your name and certificate details.
You need 2 details (either pair works)
Open ServSafe certificate search
Search, then print the certificate it finds. The button opens servsafe.com.
Not sure who issued your card? Search your email for the course receipt: it names the company. Your manager may also keep a copy.
How Do I Locate My Food Handlers Card?
The group that gave you the test, whether that's a course company or a health department, is the one holding your card. Check the receipt in your email, since it typically tells you who that was.
Course companies usually keep the certificate inside the online account you created for the class. Some health departments run card programs of their own instead. These include Washington State, Alaska, Oregon, and Nevada's Clark County.
Food Handler Certificate Lookup by Company
What each company asks you for varies a little, so gather your details first.
- ServSafe: go to the ServSafe certificate search. You can search with your last name plus certificate number, or your first name plus your state. Once it finds your record, print the certificate.
- StateFoodSafety: sign in to your StateFoodSafety dashboard, open Certificates, and print from there.
- Always Food Safe: for the certificate search, enter your name and certificate number exactly as they appear. You can also find the certificate saved in your account area.
- eFoodHandlers: sign back in to the account from your course and print another copy.
- Premier Food Safety: the certificate lookup asks for the name printed on the card. Signing in to your training account works too.
- Learn2Serve: since this course runs through 360training, you can sign in to your 360training account and pull the certificate from your list of courses.
State and County Health Department Cards
Washington and Alaska only recognize their own state card. For Washington, the food worker card site will ask for the registration details and security answer you set when you first signed up. For Alaska, the online system wants your test ID, the invoice number, and your myAlaska login.
If you're in the Las Vegas area, the Southern Nevada Health District card look up covers Clark County and asks for your first and last name as printed, plus the card number or your date of birth. If you took your Oregon course through orfoodhandlers.com, the state's certificate retrieval tool needs the name on your certificate along with your date of birth.
What Do Health Departments Charge for a Reprint?
| Issuer | Cost of a new copy |
|---|---|
| Washington | Free for 30 days after your test |
| Oregon, if you tested at a county office | $5, paid there |
| Clark County | $20, which you can pay at a Southern Nevada Health District office without booking an appointment |
In Alaska, you can print up to three extra copies while your card is valid, using your test ID and invoice number. The Washington rule is on the state food worker card site. Clark County's figures come straight from the Southern Nevada Health District.
When Your Search Comes Up Empty
Can't get into your course account? Check your email for the course receipt so you know which company to try. ServSafe and Always Food Safe both have a public certificate search, and ServSafe will find you with just your first name and state. Oregon's retrieval tool only needs your name and birth date, and the Clark County look-up works with your name and date of birth.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I find my Texas food handler certificate online?
Texas doesn't issue these cards itself; they come from approved providers like TAP Series, Premier Food Safety, eFoodHandlers, Learn2Serve, or ServSafe. You search through whichever one you took your course with. A Texas card lasts two years, so a card from a while back may no longer be valid.
Is a California card valid in every county?
Not everywhere. San Diego County only accepts cards from courses it has approved. Riverside County and San Bernardino County each accept only their own cards.
How do I reprint a Washington food worker card?
Sign in on the state site as a Returning User, then pick the option to reprint a card that is still valid. A first Washington card lasts two years, while most states allow three.
Can I use my phone to show my card?
Clark County inspectors accept online renewal certificates printed out or shown on a phone. Each certificate shows your photo, your name, the card number, and the expiration date.
